Simple answer is helping other people to sell their products on a commission for each product sold.
This things you should keep in mind before
starting affiliate
market:
1. WordPress or blogspot blogs, you
can use blogspot blog but it lacks a lot of functionality.You should
use WordPress for it's flexibility. I can set set up your WordPress for
free so that you can feel free for starting .
2. Learn to do keyword research,
it is the most important thing when you come to affiliate marketing .
At first you have to pick up a niche that you want to promote. And of
coures e it would be through keyword research on Goggle AdWords or ubbersuggest. You need those keywords which has minimum number of competitors, Approximately 1,000-10,000
search requests in a month.It depends on your confident level .If you
feel that you can compete with highly competitive keywords ,Go ahead.
3. You should have several blogs for every particular product category.
I think a good affiliate marketer should have at least 10s of blog .
you can start with one or two blogs but keep in mind that the content of
every blog have to be unique,topics related and attractive .
4. Products Selection, you should keep in mind that expensive products will give you higher profit margin but they are harder to sell, inexpensive smaller products are easier to sell. So ,you can promote both expensive and inexpensive products but promoting smaller items is good for beginners.
If you are thinking about “how do I choose the product that I want to promote?” It can be done in two ways. 1, go to Amazon, find out the best selling products and then find a suitable keyword for those products. 2 , you can find out less competitive keywords and find products that match those keywords.Most of the affiliate marketers follow the first rule.
